In light of the continuing COVID-19 crisis, the MAS staff has been in close contact with the Mississippi Coast Convention Center and the host hotels for the 91st Annual Convention (the “Convention”), which was scheduled for June 15-18, 2020. With key dates fast approaching and so much still undetermined regarding COVID-19, the MAS Board of Directors, Officers and Finance Committee (“MAS Board”) met on April 8 via teleconference to discuss options for the Convention.
The MAS Board voted to reschedule the Convention to the week of August 10-13, 2020.
MAS staff is working with each of the hotels to move our block dates to cover August 9-15, 2020. Some of the hotels will be able to move existing reservations, while others will require counties to call to cancel June reservations and make new reservations under the new blocks for August 10-13,2020.
Please do not contact the hotels as they will be unable to make any changes until the MAS staff has finalized the changes with each hotel. MAS staff will provide more specific details and instructions for hotels early next week.
Existing Registrations: If you have already registered for the Convention, we will move your existing registration to the new August dates. If you will be unable to attend, please email Ceara Plant (cplant@massup.org) by May 1 to cancel your registration with no cancellation fee.
New Registrations: We will be distributing new registration forms with the new August dates next week. If you have not yet registered for the Convention, please wait until you receive the new registration form to submit.
