Bio
The mission of Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is to protect children, support families, and encourage lasting family connections. MDCPS strives to keep Mississippi’s children safely in their own families and communities. When that is not possible, we are committed to finding permanency for children as quickly as possible. We intend to become a place to come for help, led by experts who minimize trauma to children and families through sound practices and personal engagement.
Through our programs and partnerships, MDCPS provides critical interventions, support, and education to help families thrive and to address the needs of children in foster care. Our team of caring professionals, social workers, and advocates work closely with community organizations, government agencies, and local partners to foster environments where children can reach their fullest potential.
