On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, MAS hosted a third conference call for Governor Tate Reeves to address county supervisors. After providing brief comments, Governor Reeves answered questions submitted by supervisors. One question dealt with funds to be provided to Mississippi under the CARES Act.

The Mississippi Association of Supervisors is asking our membership to contact the Mississippi Congressional Delegation to request funding and flexibility for local governments due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Please contact your congressional member(s) and ask for their support of federal funding to address the needs of local governments.
In light of the continuing COVID-19 crisis, the MAS staff has been in close contact with the Mississippi Coast Convention Center and the host hotels for the 91st Annual Convention (the “Convention”), which was scheduled for June 15-18, 2020. With key dates fast approaching and so much still undetermined regarding COVID-19, the MAS Board of Directors, Officers and Finance Committee (“MAS Board”) met on April 8 via teleconference to discuss options for the Convention.
